¡Hola Hola niños! is a play-based immersive Spanish enrichment program that travels to you! Students learn Spanish the way children learn--through movement, song, dance, stories, and art. Each month-long session is themed, allowing students to acquire new vocabulary and phrases in a fun, authentic environment. At the end of the session we celebrate our learning with a performance that showcases the songs, stories, and art children have made, interwining langauge learning with self-expression.
Why introduce Spanish in preschool?
The earlier, the better! Children are born with the innate ability to decipher sounds from all langauges. After the age of one, they hone in on the sounds of the langauge(s) that is/are spoken to them. While not everyone has the benefit of exposure to multiple languages at birth, the years of 0-5 are critical for bilingualism. Not only does learning another language create opportunities for cross-cultural communication, but it also improves adapatibility, working memory, and communication between the left and right side of the brain. Early exposure to Spanish will create the foundations needed for students to acquire this language, and others, in the future.
Learn with your child!
Languages are best learned through practice and immersion, so use this as an opportunity to learn with and from your child. We encourage children to use Spanish outside of our classes, and love to see our parents learning too! Each session children will be sent home with a Spanish cheat sheet so you can practice with your child. Don't worry about your accent! Children will develop a love for the langauge through praise and positivity.
